Disaster/Emergency Radio Communications

Municipal & Regional Districts in the CRD Area

The Disaster/Emergency Radio Communications that you would expect in a Municipal or Regional District when they have lost their conventional communications capabilities

They use BCERMS model to get your instructions/direction from the Logistics officer. Once deployed you will be probably be working with the Operations section.

Communication "Inside" will be within the boundaries of your Municipal or Regional District. This could be from the EOC (radio) to Incident Command, Receptions Centers, SAR, ESS, NGO's  etc.

Communication "Outside" will be with your mutual radio partners (neighboring local authorities) This will probably be for request for resources or to pass messages to a distant station out of your range

Communication "Long Range" will be to contact EMBC/PEP in Victoria or Kamloops via Winlink 2000 or by direct HF Pactor to send a declaration of "State of Local Emergency" or situation reports.

Communications  "outside" - Mutual Radio Partners (MRP)

(Numbers include contacting EMBC)

MRP is the community'(s) that border yours.
